Update on Life Sciences and Advertising

by | Advertising, Medical Affairs

I just had this come across my desk and thought you may be interested. As you know, several advocates and government officials have come out against drug advertising and are looking for ways to penalize such communications. The most recent non binding resolution calls for legislation from Vermont are looking to “restrain the huge expenditures by pharmaceutical companies on advertising and marketing.” This comes on the heels of other bills in the Vermont legislature looking to otherwise limit such expenditures.

Since previous similar resolutions have failed, I don’t think this is of major concern right now. However, it is important to recognize the perception of drug and device advertising by life science companies. Feel free to reach out to me if you think I can help explain what it means for you!
